Dog nutrition/supplementing on heavy hunting days

I would hate to think the calories that get burned on a hard day's hunt , let alone a few day trip. I'll give them whatever they'll eat at night and usually give them some leftovers or a burger or something too. My pointers are usually not big eaters so I figure even if they'll eat their dog...

Best strategy for rain is getting a case of beer and heading back to the Airbnb

Looking for a new hunting vehicle

What if I want to eat at the country club then snag a soccer mom and take her to the backwoods while looking cool the whole time?

Best all around e-collar for training and hunting

I'm not sure there is? I use my beeper just as a locator in heavy cover when I lose sight of them, I don't know if I'd need that feature if my handheld pointed to where the dogs was and how far.

Frost interseeding rye/brome? What might work?

I don't know what you guys consider native grasses in your area but if fescue creeping in is your biggest hurdle I have seen very good success burning late in July or August. This is Kansas mind you but I have a neighbor doing it on a prairie restoration project and he has the fescue on the run...

Looking for a new hunting vehicle

My daily is 2024 GMC 1500 with the new 4cyl gas turbo engine. In its defense I put 50-60k a year on them between work and hunting etc so they get driven but the transmission already shifts a little funny, the engine stays in high idle until put in gear, and I've had a check engine light on for...

Looking for a new hunting vehicle

I'm really looking at a suburban as well, it won't be new but the thought of taking the back seat out for my box and having everything enclosed and the room is looking more and more appealing all the time. I looked hard into a bed topper last year but you're stuck climbing over the box to get...

    Bad start to the year

Yeah I hear ya, I don't know if a check would make me feel any better or not. That dog had a lot of wild bird miles on her that are hard to replace.

    Bad start to the year

She managed to get her head pressed through the wire panel and couldn't get back out. She could have broken something thrashing around I guess but who knows. Hate for her to go out like that.

    Bad start to the year

Welp, I came home from the office yesterday afternoon to find one of my EP females dead in her pen. She has always been my Houdini dog and randomly and often would break out of her run and be waiting in the yard or porch when I would get home. Well yesterday she got her head stuck and hung...

    Factory Crimp Deforming Over Time?

Crap quality control these days. I had two boxes of fiochi come apart on me last year and had shot rolling all over in my top storage of my box.

    Lots of hunters

They're going broke, and unless they have cattle there isn't any relief in sight. This grain deal is real trouble. It sounds mean but we've done too good of a job teaching these third world countries how to farm. They don't need us anymore. When Brazilian farmers can now yield with us and they...
