How is the weather in SD impacting the birds?

I have a 3 yr old yellow male. English.Irish bloodline. I am looking for somebody with a yellow or black female to breed with. I would like the bloodline to be all yellow and black and English bloodline. I live in Marshall, IL and trying to find somebody relatively close.

I am surprised nobody has posted yet on the proposed changes for 2021. Longer season, 4 birds, and hunt at 10am opening week.

With all the rain the habitat looks good. Has anybody been seeing any broods yet of quail or pheasants? The cover on our places is so tall and lush hard to see anything, all quail where we are. Have been hearing the quail whistling so some of them survived all the flooding.

Heading to West River this weekend past Pierre. Any reports from that area from opening weekend? Last year birds were down but still had good hunting. Farmers are telling me they don't know bird numbers yet as crops are still up. Shoot straight!

Friend has been combining wheat and seeing a lot of young birds. Also saw several broods in double digits. :)

West River got some well needed rain out their way yesterday. Crops were starting to suffer and I'm sure the birds needed some moisture too. Down side is being that it got hot and dry they are about two weeks ahead on taking wheat out.

I was in Crawford County IL Last weekend in August and heard good reports from locals on quail and broods of little ones. I also saw a handful myself while up there, but no little ones. What are other people seeing for quail in IL?

With the crops coming out are you seeing many birds in KS? Either quail or Pheasants? Farmer in Central IL said their quail numbers are way up from what he can tell. Said dry summer had no impact from a good spring hatch.
