    Water in the field...

We have multiple plastic coffee tubs with lids. That way all the dogs at just hunted can get a drink at the same time. Then we carry 3-4 extra gallons to refill those as needed. Top everything off the night before and all ready for the next day. Works for us.

    Feeding Time

I water the dog food but mainly because my one dog has some trouble swapping dry food so it just helps with that. Other dog doesn’t drink a ton so the wet food also helps get him some extra water. We feed at the end of the day when we are done hunting. Not uncommon after the last bird of the day...

    Tennessee guy

Welcome. What town are you close to? In OH but spend time in TN at Dale Hollow. No wild birds in either location unfortunately. Nice looking dog!

    Party Hunting

Comes down to what is legal first then how does the group want to proceed? I hunt with just my buddy unless a landowner joins us. If a landowner is along then we are doing everything we can to put him in the best position to get action and waiting for him to shoot first whenever possible. If...

    Gucci Time

That hits it on the head. If it isn’t illegal do what you want. I’m sure there are people that would say if they couldn’t hunt in a large group it wouldn’t be fun for them.

    Shed hunting

Easy now. I only hunt what I have permission on. We do a lot to attract them to our property though to increase the odds.

    Shed hunting

Don’t take this the wrong way but they are there. Some people have more of a knack for seeing them Then others. You mentioned burns so assume you mean CRP. Get on the trails and start walking. Be surprised how many you can find there.

    Gucci Time

Damn I was really sweating waiting on this reply. Glad to say I don’t check any of those boxes! Oh wait a second. I only hunt with one buddy and with just two of us there is always a line no matter what direction we walk. Does that put me in to Gucci classification??

Should I feel bad cutting a stock?

Those are nice guns. Not been around the 12’s but have 20 and 28’s. I wouldn’t worry about recoil or cutting the stock. Buy it and see how it is. If needed cut and put quality recoil pad on it. Either way enjoy it!

    Shed hunting

intereting. For me the actual kill is the sad part because it puts the end to that deers horns me. Probably why I very seldom ever pull the trigger. I’d much rather look for the sheds and then compare to other years and to await the next set he was gonna grow. You can only shoot them once but...

    Shed hunting

Label them by farm and by year and put them in the basement. Then use them to track growth of deer we kill or finds sheds of the following year and compare. I give some smaller ones away to friends for the their dogs to chew on. Have considered maybe selling some dog chews but I enjoy collecting...

    Shed hunting

The old man pulled off a matched set find today in the first 5 minutes. Only his second day out so far this year so a good start. 14 total horns so far this year. Long ways to get our goal of 100.

    Pheasant Hunting

Nice write up. Never easy as your dog ages and for me the reality check is when you know for sure there are less hunting seasons ahead of them then are behind them. One of my springers will be 10 when next season roles around. Knowing we are approaching the back end of his hunting career is...
