SNOW PC's

I am guessing you are referring to Prairie Chickens , my experience is the cover is thinner and lighter and you got the whole flock watching out for danger . I would be curious if anybody has further input ?

It depends on the amount of snow.
If there isn’t a lot of snow you can. Generally that will be a guard bird, old males or one that over shot the flock. The main flock will be almost an impossibility.
They are very hard to get close to when snow pushes down the cover. Lots of eyes looking for danger and they’ll flush as soon as they spot you. Even that possibilities of a straggler are low. Sometimes you can get close enough for a long poke but most of the time you’re just out bird watching.

interesting, i wouldve guessed perhaps they hunker down more in snow to get out of the elements. thanks for your insight.
