Walking out the back door to take a leak at 4a.m. and having a dozen turkey poults fly out of the tree next to the house is a little alarming.

We hit a new to us 1/4 of private ground today. Bad omen running 2 coyotes off before starting. Saw a ton of deer tracks and some turkey tracks heading in. Had 2 roosters flush wild one of which my buddy missed his chance at. Flushed 6 turkeys.

I was at a navhda test and my dog was.on point but I couldn't find a bird. Judge says just pull him off last dog was pointing here also and no bird. Just then I noticed a hole which I pointed out to the judge. He said well now we know where the bird is.

I am one of the guys saying it's hard for the dog in areas with so many birds , but you have to trust your dog when they seem to be working a trail.

Yeah I was locking my business door planning on going out and got hit with a 48mph gust. Instantly remembered the dogs need some rest.🙂 I had hunted 11 of the last 12 days.😉
