Hunted with my son and 2 of my weims tonight. First 10 birds were hens. Wondering if I jinxed us. Finally shot a rooster took the dogs a while to retrieve it. It just occurred to me that I see way more roosters then hens most days that I hunt. There are days where the hens are 20× the number but that isn't often. It does happen on public ground more then private.

15-10 =5 so I can go hunt 3 days or more if I give more birds away.

I have been out 4× less then 3 hours total time. By myself twice and twice with another dog guy. 15 birds total. I am not a fan of hunting above 45°. From Dec. 1 till Jan. 31 i will probably shoot 150 birds. That is about my normal take during the end of the S.Dak. season.

More then once I have watched Willie side stepping hackles raised growling at something. Once a mailbox , once a old flannel shirt on a corner post , and oddly enough a dead tree he had seen 50× before in a creek bottom. Other times equally as funny.

The Alpha has many bells and whistles it is just figuring them out and then remembering that is harder then it should be. That is the main complaint about the alpha. The small screen is the 2nd most common complaint.

I am quite sure the buttons still work but you can't switch dogs without unlocking the screen first. Some say you can program the buttons to correspond to different dogs. All in all the alpha is really difficult to use.
