Help with an A-5 serial number.

A little more info would help. What gauge is it? Some pictures of the shotgun and of the serial number would help. Sometimes numbers and letters before or above the serial number will determine the year of manufacture.

It is starting to feel like fall out there.

Not here in the West Tennessee. 90's with high humidity. I usually don't start working dogs until mid October.

    SD atlas- paper copy available?

I like to ride in the passenger seat with the atlas in my lap. Every mark I make has a story. At the end of each hunting trip I will compile a list of all the places we found birds. It pays off for future trips.

eyeballing pheasants on my Saturday evening drive

That's a good report. I love driving early in the mornings in South Dakota looking for pheasants. In Tennessee, we have no pheasants and very few quail to look for.

    Clays

I drive to a beautiful new facility run by the University of Tennessee near Bolivar, TN. The Clays at Lone Oaks Farm. It's about 70 miles from home and I have been about once a month. Skeet and trap just went up to $8 a round and sporting clays are .50 cents a clay. If I get a cart, I usually...

    South Dakota CREP

The updated map shows additions and deletions since the atlas was printed last August. Some CREP tracts were added this February. When you click on the little green or red flags you can see the dates of the changes. Some additions in the area I hunt were added last month. What's really...

    Weather!!!!

Debated Friday on staying or hunting one more day. Glad we stayed. 28 degrees with 40 MPH winds and probably had the funniest hunting day ever. Birds were out everywhere.

    Waiting is . . .

I haven't received mine, but a friend did about 3 weeks ago. We are in Tennessee, Requested mine back in early August.

    Emergency haying.

You're right. It happened that way in 2012 and new growth and edges were created.

    Emergency haying.

There is also a lot of CREP tracts that are being deleted on 9/30. I'm assuming the contracts are expiring. Hopefully some will be re enrolled. Look at the South Dakota game and fish website and you will see the updates to the hunting atlas.
