I've got a buddy coming down from MI to turkey hunt. I have some private ground to hunt. We are also going to hunt a WMA, floating down the river. Listening for them, beach the boat and go after them. Hope it pans out. Hopefully we will chase some Trout while he is down here also.
You can thank the Supreme Court in their decision several years back for this. They ruled if it is in the best interest of ?, they can take the land for whatever reason.
I could not transfer a page from PF, that states what Party Hunting includes. It also states there are 5 states that do not allow it. MN and SD allow it. I wonder what the thinking of the DNR agencies that prohibit it?
When I hunted Kansas on public ground I saw what large groups can do. It was not usual to find remains of 20+ birds on a pretty regular basis on public ground at parking spots. It made an impression on me. What state prohibits large groups from hunting now?
I agree that habitat is critical. If harvesting birds in large numbers doesn't have an effect on the population, then why do states have limits on birds per day etc ? Let's ask Prairie Drifter about that, that is his field of expertise. Defies common sense.
Goose, I agree. Not fair chase for the birds period. It typical is just a slaughterfest. Of course we will hear from some that it doesn't effect the populations of birds at all. If that were true, there would be no limits on birds.
